Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs rump roast
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 lrg onion sliced
  • 1 sliced lemon
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 whole dry bay leaves
  • 6 whole peppercorns 2
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  • Place meat in crock pot
  • combine water, vinegar, onion, lemon, cloves, bayleaves, pepper, salt and sugar
  • cover and refrigerate for 24 – 36 hours turn meat several times while marinating
  • strain the liquid and pour 1 cup in with the meat
  • cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours
  • remove juice and place in a sauce pan
  • bring to a boil and add the crushed gingersnaps
  • the gingersnaps will dissolve and thicken into gravy.
