Place meat in crock pot
combine water, vinegar, onion, lemon, cloves, bayleaves, pepper, salt and sugar
cover and refrigerate for 24 - 36 hours turn meat several times while marinating
strain the liquid and pour 1 cup in with the meat
cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours
remove juice and place in a sauce pan
bring to a boil and add the crushed gingersnaps
the gingersnaps will dissolve and thicken into gravy.
