Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry beans
  • 16 oz ground beef
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 32 oz stewed tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 oz tomato paste

Instructions

  • soak beans overnight in water
  • drain
  • brown beef and onion in skillet in pot.
  • add beans, beef, onions, stewed tomatoes, chili powder, salt and tomato paste
  • add enough water to cover
  • simmer slowly intil beans are tender (about 3 hrs.)
  • Add more water if necessary
  • season to taste
