Shepard’s Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 garlic minced
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 2/3 cup beef stock
  • 4 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 3 potatoes

Instructions

  • brown the meat and drain
  • add oil and onion saute until brown
  • return meat a stir in slowly pour in stock while stirring
  • add paste, carrots, salt and pepper
  • raise heat to simmer and cook until filling is thick and bubbling about 15 min
  • make mashed potatoes
  • pour meat fixings into 9" baking dish
  • spoon potatoes on top of mixture
  • bake at 350 until pots are golden brown about 45 min
  • sprinkle cheese on after about 20 min
