Combine nuts and dry spices together (not the whole Cloves)
Butter 9" x 13" pan.
Place 6 sheets of filo in the botton of the pan.
Brush with melted butter.
Spread one thin layer of nut mixture on top of the filo
Cover with one sheet of filo and repeat until 6 sheets left.
Butter remaining 6 filo sheets
Cut into diamands (see picture)
(Squares would work just as well just not as pretty with less extra pieces)
insert a clove in center of each diamond.
Bake for 1 hr. at 325
When brown remove from pan and pour all but 1/3 of the mixture evenly over the top. (Layers may temp float)
Allow to cool.
While cooling boil remaining syrup for about 5 min. Making into a very very thick syrup.
Pour over the top evenly (this makes the baklava look the very best).
Cool entire pan for several hours.
Serve in cupcake paper.
